About Charlotte Craig
Charlotte’s childhood in Iran (Isfahan in her early childhood, and then later in Tehran) has given her a lasting love of Persian culture, rugs, architecture and colours. She maintains that the turquoise blue of the mosques and the pottery in Isfahan is imprinted on her retina!
She was 11 when she knotted her first little rug under the guidance of her father. Together they made a simple pattern, and John taught her how to tie the Turkish knot and thread the weft. Though not without its beginner’s flaws, this little piece still occupies a proud place amongst her many carpets. Our sincere wish is that you will come to feel the same about your “little piece”.
After a successful career in project management, she went back to the ancient craft of rug repairs, and now runs workshops and does repairs in the Languedoc, France.
